Mobile Deposit is quick, easy and allows you to fit banking into your busy schedule. You will no longer need to visit an office to deposit a check; all you will need is your smartphone or tablet equipped with our mobile banking app*. 

To enroll, open the mobile banking app and look for the Mobile Deposit enrollment option listed under "Services" for Online Banking users. If you are an Online Banking Plus user and are interested in using Mobile Deposit, please contact our Client Support Team at 877-231-2265. *Users must access Mobile Deposit through the mobile banking app to deposit a check. Mobile Deposit is not available via desktop or the browser on your mobile device.

How to Enroll in Mobile Deposit

  1. Log in to Online Banking via desktop or Columbia Bank's mobile banking app.
  2. Click on "Services" in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click on "Mobile Deposit Enrollment."
  4. Read the User Agreement Terms and Conditions then check the acceptance box.
  5. Click "Accept."

After you complete the enrollment process, you must logout to allow your account to update. When you log back in, Mobile Deposit will be available under "Transactions" in the left-hand menu. Just click "Deposit Check" to get started.

Mobile Deposit or Deposit Plus?

When determining whether Mobile Deposit or Deposit Plus – Remote Capture is right for you, the biggest thing to consider is your monthly check volume. Mobile Deposit is designed for consumers or businesses with very low check deposit volume while Deposit Plus is best for businesses with a higher check volume each month.

How do I access Mobile Deposit? 

To add Mobile Deposit as a feature in your mobile banking app, you will first need to accept the disclosure. Log in to online banking via mobile or desktop; click on “Services” in the left-hand menu, then click on “Mobile Deposit Enrollment.” Review the User Agreement Terms and Conditions, then check the box to accept our User Agreement Terms and Conditions, and click “Accept.” 

Once you have accepted the disclosure, log out of online banking; this will trigger the mobile app to refresh and add the new feature. The next time you log in through your mobile app, you will be able to access Mobile Deposit by clicking on “Deposit Check” under “Transactions” in the left-hand menu. 

If you are an Online Banking Plus user, the account administrator may need to contact our Client Support Team at 877-231-2265 to request access for approved users. 

Is there a fee for Mobile Deposit?

No, there are no additional fees for using Mobile Deposit. 

What is the difference between Mobile Deposit and Deposit Plus–Remote Deposit? 

Mobile Deposit is designed for consumers or businesses a with very low check deposit volume, while Deposit Plus is best for businesses who accept a higher volume of checks each month. In addition, Mobile Deposit has set daily and monthly limits for the number of checks and the dollar amount allowed; Deposit Plus limits are based on your business’s needs. Each check will need to be deposited separately when using Mobile Deposit, while Deposit Plus allows for an unlimited number of checks per deposit.

How much can I deposit using Mobile Deposit? 

You can deposit up to $10,000 in checks during any one business day. There is no monthly limit.  

How many checks can I deposit during a single day? 

During any one business day, your deposits may not exceed the $10,000 per check or $10,000 per day limit; there is no monthly limit. 

When will my deposit post?

On business days, your deposit will appear on your account once approved; this may take one to two hours. On weekends or holidays, deposits will be approved and posted to your account on the following business day. If for some reason we do not approve your deposit, you will receive an email notification. 

What is the cut-off time for same-day credit? 

You must complete your deposit by 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time on business days to receive same-day credit. 

How do I endorse my check? 

Please sign the back of the check and write “mobile deposit” and your account number under your signature. 

How many checks can I have in a single deposit? 

Each check will create a separate deposit. 

Are there any checks I cannot deposit through Mobile Deposit? 

You cannot deposit checks written to anyone other than yourself, checks drawn on the same account you are depositing into, foreign checks, returned checks, altered items or savings bonds. Please see the disclosure for a complete list of items we will not accept via Mobile Deposit. 

What should I do with my check after it’s deposited? 

Once you complete your mobile deposit, your check should be stored in a secure location for 60-90 days and then destroyed using a secure method such as shredding.
